Job Summary:
The Contract Administrator / Category Manager is responsible for planning, managing, and executing all contract-related activities associated with the procurement of goods and services across assigned product categories. This role leads sourcing strategies, vendor management, pricing, negotiations, and supply assurance. The position will collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to drive cost savings, optimize vendor performance, and support Cedars-Sinai’s strategic sourcing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage end-to-end procurement and contract lifecycle for assigned product portfolios, ensuring supply assurance and compliance with sourcing processes.
· Partner with Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) and key distributors to develop pricing strategies, analyse benchmarking reports, pull purchase plans, and develop comparison summaries.
· Support leadership with economic modelling and “what-if” scenario analysis to recommend best-value sourcing solutions.
· Develop and execute short- and long-term category strategies aligned with organizational goals and growth forecasts.
· Evaluate supplier performance, core competencies, and market positioning using industry cost models and
benchmarking tools.
· Lead sourcing activities including bid evaluations, vendor negotiations, change orders, rebates, supplier
consolidation, and contract closeouts.
· Prepare executive-level reports, presentations, and deal evaluation models for leadership review.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess new product and technology requests and implement cost-reduction initiatives.
· Lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) by reviewing service level agreements and vendor performance metrics.
· Drive standardization and utilization of resources across departments to enhance procurement and category management processes.
· Maintain accurate and compliant contract documentation within ERP and contract database systems.
· Update procurement policies and procedures as needed to support continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, Accounting, Contract Administration, Procurement, or a related field
· HS Diploma/GED is required for this role
Experience:
· 3–5 years of progressive experience in purchasing, contract management, and vendor negotiations
· Experience in a complex, multi-hospital or large healthcare environment preferred
· Proven experience with financial analysis, negotiations, and contracting (mandatory)
· ERP and contract/database system experience required (Healthcare setting preferred)
· Oracle ERP experience required
· Advanced Excel skills
