Application Support Engineer – Equities

CW Talent Solutions is partnering with a leading equities-focused investment firm to hire an Application Support Engineer. This role will support the firm’s in-house trading and analytics tools, ensuring stability, monitoring, and support for key business lines including equities trading, risk, portfolio visualization, and market data.
The Role
- Monitor and automate application and infrastructure alerts, reacting quickly to issues
- Ensure system stability and uptime for all tools under management, including application and infrastructure/cloud monitoring
- Troubleshoot and support user queries across the equities trading teams
- Identify areas for improvement, assess business risk, and prioritize remediation
- Administer handoffs to other regions and follow up as necessary
- Flexibility to work weekends or shifts for releases and meetings
- Build subject matter expertise and become the go-to person for your area of responsibility
Experience Required
- Basic knowledge of equities products and experience interacting with portfolio managers/traders
- 5 years professional experience in Python, Unix/shell scripting, and SQL
- Familiarity with DevOps tools (Docker/Kubernetes, Kafka, Maven, AWS) is desirable but not mandatory
- Self-starter with ability to quickly learn new concepts and technologies (public cloud, serverless architecture, etc.)
- Highly motivated with strong ownership and problem-solving skills
