Career Academy Teacher (One-Year, 2026-2027) Needed

Location: Champlain Valley Union High School

Champlain Valley Union High School (CVU) is seeking an innovative, energetic, and collaborative Career Academy Teacher (One-Year, 2026-2027) to join our community of learners for FY27. We are looking for a certified high school teacher to lead an alternative academic approach for students interested in career exploration through project-based and hands-on learning.

In this role, you will be a dynamic practitioner dedicated to exposing students to the knowledge and skills of future career pathways while providing core academic skills in personalized ways.

Primary Responsibilities

• Leading and facilitating a program that provides an alternative academic approach through project-based and hands-on learning.
• Providing core academic skills instruction utilizing personalized learning methods.
• Co-designing and implementing project-based learning opportunities aligned with proficiency-based learning practices.
• Fostering supportive relationships and establishing friendly, professional rapport with students, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
• Ensuring students are exposed to the necessary knowledge and skills for diverse future career pathways.

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess

• Demonstrated expertise in project-based learning and personalized learning methods.
• Proven commitment to proficiency-based learning practices.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build meaningful connections with a variety of stakeholders.
• Ability and willingness to accommodate learning needs and modify expectations as necessary to meet the needs of individual students. 
• Poise and patience when dealing with difficult situations.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently as a self-starter and prioritize tasks under pressure.
• Required Certification: Applicants must possess a current high school teaching license.
