CV Resources is partnering with a publicly traded company in Seattle to identify a Senior Accountant.
This role is focused on owning the accounting and reporting processes related to inventory across a complex consumer products environment. The position ensures accurate valuation and reporting of inventory balances, supports period-end close activities, and partners closely with operations, supply chain, and finance teams to improve visibility, accuracy, and cost management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end inventory accounting activities, including valuation methods and reserve calculations (e.g., excess and obsolete stock)
- Execute key components of the month-end close tied to inventory, including journal entries, reconciliations, and fluctuation analysis
- Evaluate inventory activity, cost of goods sold, and margin performance, translating data into meaningful insights for leadership
- Collaborate with supply chain, procurement, and operations teams to ensure inventory data integrity and accurate costing flows
- Strengthen and maintain internal control processes over inventory accounting, including SOX-related compliance requirements
- Coordinate or support periodic physical counts and ongoing cycle count programs, including investigation and resolution of variances
- Review inventory-related accruals, adjustments, and supporting schedules for accuracy and completeness
- Assist with external audit requests by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries related to inventory
- Participate in system enhancements, ERP updates, and process improvement initiatives impacting inventory and cost accounting
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience in manufacturing, retail, distribution, or consumer goods environments preferred
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and core accounting principles
- Experience working with ERP systems (various platforms acceptable)
- Strong Excel and analytical skill set
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base salary range: $75,000 – $90,000 depending on experience and qualifications
- Eligible for bonus compensation and potential equity incentives
