AR Specialist

CV Resources has partnered with a well-established Construction company in North Denver to find a Contract to Hire AR Specialist to add to their growing team!

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist (Contract to hire) to support the full AR and billing cycle for a growing construction company. This role will focus heavily on complex project billing, new job setup, collections, payment application, and lien waiver administration. The ideal candidate will have construction accounting experience and be comfortable working with contracts, project managers, customers, and detailed billing requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up new jobs, customers, contracts, and billing requirements in the accounting/ERP system
• Prepare and distribute customer billings through email, customer portals, and digital billing platforms
• Manage complex construction billing, including progress billings, retainage, change orders, and time & material invoices
• Review contracts, purchase orders, and billing requirements to ensure accurate and timely invoicing
• Coordinate with Project Managers and Operations to obtain required billing documentation and approvals
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies, invoice rejections, short pays, and customer disputes
• Apply customer payments and reconcile customer accounts, unapplied cash, and discrepancies
• Review AR aging and assist with collections and follow-up on past-due balances
• Track retainage and assist with collection as projects reach completion
• Manage and track project lien waivers and required customer documentation
• Assist with month-end AR close, reconciliations, and reporting

Qualifications

• 2 years of AR, billing, or accounting experience
• Construction industry experience strongly preferred
• Experience with complex, project-based, or contract billing
• Knowledge of progress billings, retainage, change orders, and lien waivers
• Strong Excel, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with accounting/ERP systems and customer billing portals preferred
