Hours:  8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday- Friday
*Hours/Days will vary depending upon the needs of the department during the election cycle

What do you need to have?
Bachelor’s Degree preferred or 2-4 years’ experience in a management role with direct staff supervision. A High School Diploma or equivalent required. 2-4 years’ experience in election campaign finance preferred, with demonstrated understanding of the election process and cycle, and the voter registration management system. You’ll need to have a demonstrated understanding of campaign finance auditing and concepts.
 

What will you be doing?
You will be leading a team of three campaign finance auditors. In a typical day you will be assisting campaign and political action committees with complex campaign finance filing and reporting issues. You will work with candidates, officeholders and campaign treasures to ensure compliance with the Ohio Revised Code (ORC) and Ohio Secretary of State (SOS) directives. You will work with other government agencies as it relates to campaign finance filings, especially the SOS.  You will prepare referrals to the Ohio Elections Integrity Unit for campaign finance violations and correspond as needed with Integrity Unit staff. You’ll be ensuring that notifications to file campaign finance reports are mailed in accordance with State laws, and you’ll be reviewing your staff’s correspondence to campaign  committees. You will be responsible for preparing, updating and presenting campaign finance seminars as well as development and implementation of effective departmental trainings. You will attend any and all continuing education sessions required. You’ll ensure that the campaign finance program is kept up to date and will also assist management in completing all special projects related to Candidate and Petition Services. You’ll be assisting in the development and implementation of departmental work plans and maintaining an effective productivity schedule. You will also assist in safeguarding sensitive documents and supplies as well as assisting in maintaining inventory of department’s forms and supplies. You’ll assist in ordering all election-related documents and materials in a timely manner.  You’ll assist with the management and evaluation of department staff, and will assume responsibility for the department staff in the absence of the manager and assistant manager. You will also notify the appropriate departments when changes occur that could affect the election process. You will ensure duties are conducted according to NVRA and HAVA procedures;  you will enforce the policies and procedures mandated by the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections.  You will perform all other duties assigned, delegated or required of the Candidate and Petition Services Campaign Finance Coordinator as well as those prescribed by law.
