What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Office & Student Finance Coordinator position at Med-Cert?
Med-Cert Training Center trains the next generation of CNAs, Phlebotomists, EKG Technicians, and CPR-certified healthcare professionals across our Maple Heights and Akron campuses. We're hiring an organized, tech-fluent, trustworthy Front Office & Student Finance Coordinator to be the operational backbone of our office.
This is a role for someone who runs a tight system, is genuinely sharp on a computer, and takes pride in work that's accurate every time. You'll be a key part of a small, supportive team — with a set phone schedule so you have protected, uninterrupted time to focus on your work.
What you'll do:
- Serve as the primary front-office contact — greet students, answer calls during your scheduled phone hours, and keep the office running smoothly
- Post student payments accurately and help manage payment plans
- Send and track enrollment agreements; make sure every student's paperwork is complete before class starts
- Support class schedules, filing, inventory, and new-class paperwork
- Create clean documents, emails, and student records daily
- Make occasional follow-up calls to students with outstanding balances
- Flag issues early so small things never become big ones
You must be:
- Genuinely strong on a computer — Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, email, and document creation are second nature. (We test this — finalists complete a short PAID hands-on exercise.)
- Highly organized — you run a real system and nothing slips through the cracks
- Accurate with money and records — you double-check yourself by habit
- Professional and warm on the phone with students and staff
- Calm and reliable — you ask when you're unsure rather than guessing
Requirements:
- This role handles student financial transactions. A background check is required.
- Front-office, medical/dental admin, billing, or bookkeeping experience strongly preferred
Schedule & Compensation:
- Monday–Friday, 9:00am–4:00pm — no nights, no weekends, no rotating shifts. Run the office and be home by 4:30.
- $19–$21 per hour, based on experience (32–35 hours/week)
- Free tuition in any Med-Cert program for you or an immediate family member after 90 days — CNA, Phlebotomy, or EKG (a $540–$750 value)
- Wage review at 90 days based on performance
- A team that backs each other up — you won't be handling everything alone
- Meaningful work: you'll help people launch real healthcare careers
Med-Cert Training Center is an equal opportunity employer.
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
Benefits:
