Works under the direction of Plant Operations Manager to plan, coordinate and direct the work activities of the Building Maintenance and Building Service Worker components of the Plant Operations Department. May coordinate and direct the work activities of the Grounds Maintenance component of the Plant Operations Department as needed in the absence of the Grounds Maintenance Supervisor.

Job Description:
Summary

Essential Functions
- Works under the direction of Plant Operations Manager to plan, coordinate and direct the work activities of the Building Maintenance and Building Service Worker components of the Plant Operations Department
- Responsible for the maintenance, repair, and physical condition of the campus and equipment, including various mechanical and systems
- Operates all machinery and equipment necessary to perform duties
- Assists in the supervision of contracted work on construction projects
- Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules
- Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving problems
- Reviews and approves timesheets
- Develops thorough knowledge of department operations and procedures
- Interprets company policies and enforces safety regulations
- Conducts performance reviews of all reporting employees.
- Physically works alongside reporting employees to demonstrate job specific expectations and to further develop their skills
- Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
- Associate’s Degree
- Significant related experience may substitute for education
- Minimum of five years of relevant work experience in facilities maintenance
- Valid Ohio Driver’s license with the ability to meet the College’s insurability requirements
- Minimum of two years supervisory experience
- Demonstrated experience effectively making decisions that have major implications on the management and operations within a department
- Demonstrated experience in a role requiring diverse problem solving methods in a variety of situations
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Possess familiarity using maintenance tools and equipment in a facilities environment
- Demonstrated intermediate project management skills
- Demonstrated basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Possess strong organizational, time-management skills, and is results-oriented
- Possess strong commitment to providing excellent customer service
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and changing work environment requiring flexibility and teamwork

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Minimum of two years of demonstrated experience supervising, planning, assigning, scheduling and ensuring the quality of the
- work of others in a union environment
- Demonstrated experience working in an academic environment
- Demonstrated experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System
- Previous experience using a Computerized Management Controls System
- Industrial Certifications (CFC recovery, Boiler Operator, Pesticide Applicator, etc.)

- The work is performed in a normal, professional office environment;
- The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated;
- Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the duties of the job and will perform repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard to type. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc.;
- Work may also require the ability to routinely lift up to 50lbs un-assisted;
- Work may also require the ability to routinely climb/utilize full size ladders un-assisted;
