Job Description:
Summary
Provides academic support to respiratory care program students. Works directly with students assisting in one -on-one, small groups, and classroom settings. Supports the Program’s objectives and initiatives as directed.
Essential Functions
- Directly supervises Respiratory Care Program students in the Respiratory Care Program homework/practice labs ensuring adherence to lab rules, policies and procedures
- Ensures that the lab provides a safe learning environment
- Assists in the development of educational action plans
- Assists with individual and/or small group tutoring sessions
- Works with and/or demonstrates various types of audio-visual materials, computer applications, and other materials or delivery systems used in an instructional program
- Assists in the recruitment and retention of program students
- May supervise Work-Study students and Student Assistants
- Visits classes or consults with faculty as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
- Associate’s degree in respiratory care technology from an accredited academic institution, recognized by the USDE
- Current State of Ohio license and RRT credential verified by the National Board for Respiratory Care
- Minimum 2 years’ clinical experience as an RRT
- Possess working knowledge of respiratory care concepts with the ability to apply in various situations
- Demonstrated knowledge of exemplary instructional methods and practices
- Possess excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to foster a team environment and work collaboratively
- Demonstrated commitment to providing exemplary customer service
- Intermediate-level proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Proficiency in curriculum development, supervision, instruction, evaluation, and counseling
- Possess sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of the community

- Bachelor’s Degree
- Pediatric/neonatal clinical experience

- The work is performed in a normal, professional office environment.
- The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated.
- Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the duties of the job and will perform repetitive motions with
- hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard to type. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc.
- Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite.
