Overview
Cutting Edge Machining and Automation in North Versailles, PA is seeking a Quality Inspector. This position is responsible for performing inspection and verification activities to ensure machined products conform to applicable customer, statutory, regulatory, and internal requirements in accordance with the organization's ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS). This position requires a strong background in Mitutoyo CMM programming and operation along with a working knowledge of Zeiss CMM operations and experience supporting controlled manufacturing processes in a precision machine shop environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform dimensional inspection of in-process and finished product to verify conformity to engineering drawings, specifications, control plans, and work instructions.
· Program, operate, and maintain Mitutoyo Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) using MCOSMOS software to ensure repeatable and reliable measurement results.
· Operate and maintain Zeiss Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) using Calypso software.
· Develop, validate, and maintain CMM programs in accordance with documented procedures.
· Perform First Article Inspection (FAI) or initial inspection activities as required by customer or internal requirements.
· Accurately record inspection and verification results to provide objective evidence of conformity.
· Identify, document, and report nonconforming products in accordance with the organization's control of nonconforming outputs procedure.
· Provide feedback to manufacturing personnel to support process control and product conformity.
· Participate in continual improvement activities related to inspection methods, measurement capability, and process effectiveness.
Required Competence:
· High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or apprenticeship preferred.
· Minimum 5 years of experience performing inspection activities in a CNC machine shop environment.
· Demonstrated competence in Mitutoyo and/ or Zeiss CMM operation.
· Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications, including GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
· Knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements related to inspection, monitoring and measurement, and control of nonconforming outputs.
· Ability to work independently and make objective decisions based on evidence. High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational training in machining or quality control is preferred).
Preferred Competence:
· Experience supporting an ISO 9001–certified quality management system.
· Experience with aerospace, defense, medical, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
· Familiarity with customer-specific and industry specifications.
· Experience with additional metrology technologies (vision systems, laser measurement, or form analysis)
Work and Physical Requirements:
· Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, coolants, and noise.
· Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. as required.
· Ability to maintain attention to detail while managing multiple inspection priorities.
· Manual dexterity for operating precision measuring instruments.
· Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
Pay: $ $30.00 per hour
