The Cutler Elementary School is searching for a 1.0 FTE School Counselor to provide counseling services and interventions to our K-Grade 5 school community.
Responsibilities include:
- Plan, organize and deliver a comprehensive school counseling program that is aligned with MASCA, ASCA and CASEL competencies
- Deliver counseling services through direct classroom instruction,group activities,consultation, individual and small group counseling, crisis counseling/response and peer facilitation.
- Collaborate with parents/guardians, teachers, administrators and other educational specialists to develop academic, and personal/social skills for all students.
- Being a part of the crisis response team and providing crisis support when needed.
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
- Provide support to administration and classroom teachers around behavioral and emotional needs of students and families.
- Offer support groups to students as needs are identified.
- Perform other such duties as may be required by the Principal or his/her designee.
- Collaborate with school counselors across the district.
-Participate in professional development opportunities to increase awareness of best practices to support all students
-Contribute to the development of a positive school culture where all students feel a sense of safety and belonging
