What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Custom Wood Products?
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Tech will provide support to help provide maintenance and up-keep to shop equipment and facility maintenance.
Work Schedule: M-F 7am-5:30pm, with occasional extra hours as needed for special projects.
Essential Functions:
Machinery/Equipment Duties:
· Runs and operates all production machines.
· Operates forklift.
· Drives and pulls trailer.
· Keeps all machines dialed in for operations; daily checks on each machine to ensure it is dialed in correctly; adjust as needed for machine operations.
· Troubleshoot operation issues on machines.
· Performs lock out and tag out procedure on equipment/machines.
· Assists in rebuilding machines.
· Changes blades and inserts.
· Welds and builds items/parts from prescribed drawing.
· Works with vendor technicians by phone to support equipment/machinery maintenance and troubleshooting/repair.
· Fill in for machine operators as needed.
· Performs wiring responsibilities on equipment to include reading wiring diagrams, 3-phase wiring and single-phase wiring.
Facility Maintenance Duties:
· Performs general plumbing.
· Mows and weed eats CWP grounds on a regularly scheduled basis.
· Shovels snow, lays ice melt, etc. on sidewalks and parking lots in inclement weather.
Other Duties:
· Handles chemicals on a regular basis following prescribed safety procedures.
· Operates PC to log information, communicate with vendors, etc.
· Will use ladder, lift, etc. and work at high altitudes on occasion.
Qualifications:· HS Diploma or equivalent preferred
· Valid Driver’s license with safe driving record required
· Commercial maintenance and welding experience preferred
· Strong mechanical skills with fine attention to detail required
· Possesses demonstrated knowledge of Custom Wood Products business processes/systems
· Demonstrate logical thinking and ability to solve problems
· Effective communication skills
· Excellent teamwork skills with ability to get along with others
· Demonstrate safety mindset and ability to perform work safely
· Ability to stand, squat, kneel, stoop, climb ladders, and work at high altitudes on occasion
· Wiring skills strongly preferred
· Experience operating machinery strongly preferred
