What are the responsibilities and job description for the CDL Delivery Driver/Craftsman position at Custom Wood Products?
Join Custom Wood Products as a Delivery Driver/Woodshop Craftsman. Our drivers are recognized as the front line to our customers. As brand ambassadors, their goal is to provide a top-notch, red carpet customer experience. As a Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for loading, delivering and unloading the product. On low delivery days, position will work in workshop in assigned duties to help meet project deadlines.
Essential Functions:
- Load, secure and protect product in delivery vehicle and safely transport merchandise without damage.
- Verify product information and accessories to ensure it matches for deliveries and returns.
- Offload the merchandise for our customers safely.
- Safely operate delivery vehicle and follow delivery schedule set by management.
- Accurately document all vehicle movement on daily route sheets.
- Conduct daily inspection of assigned delivery vehicle to ensure safety and maintenance guidelines are met.
- On non-delivery or low delivery days, works in woodshop in duties defined by plant manager or designee to include assembling cabinets, sanding, staining, painting, operating machinery, etc. to help produce final quality product.
- Adheres to safety protocols and conducts work in safe manner.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- At least 21 years old with a valid state Driver’s License
- License/Certification: Class A CDL with no restrictions (must be able to drive manual transmission)
- Ability to work schedule of hours varying from 5 am to 7 pm; most work days complete before 5pm!
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. without help and up to 300 lbs. with assistance
- Excellent customer service skills, including being courteous and professional
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
