POSITION SUMMARY Welder 2 is responsible for handling more complex welding tasks, independently interpreting blueprints and specifications, and producing high-quality welds. This position requires a strong understanding of various welding techniques and materials, with minimal supervision. Role and Responsibilities
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on diverse materials, including steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and ductile iron.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding specifications.
- Ensure all welds meet quality standards and customer specifications.
- Conduct routine maintenance of welding equipment and report any issues.
- Monitor welding processes to prevent defects and ensure safety.
- Assist in training and guiding Welder 1 employees.
- Maintain a safe and organized workspace.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
- 3-5 years of experience in welding with various materials.
- High school diploma or GED required; advanced welding certification preferred.
- Proficient in MIG and TIG welding techniques.
- Strong ability to follow blueprints and technical instructions.
- Commitment to producing high-quality work with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well independently and with a team.
- Experience with multiple welding tools and equipment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
