HR and Cost Accountant

Role Summary:

You will manage HR operations and construction cost accounting. You will support payroll,

compliance, job costing, reporting, and banking. You will help leadership maintain accurate

financial records and meet all required deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

HR

• Process payroll and certified payroll
• Manage timecards in ClockShark
• Support onboarding and offboarding
• Maintain employee files and make updates for W4, address changes, and banking
• Stay current with law changes and implement required updates
• Manage wage garnishments
• Track DOT driver compliance
• Record and report workers comp accidents and incidents
• Prepare unemployment claims and labor reports
• Complete OSHA Forms 300, 300A, and 301 each year
• Prepare W2s, 1099 NEC, 1099 INT forms, 1099 misc, and submit to IRS
• Ensure Foundation Software has current payroll tax rates
• Confirm federal, state, FUTA, SUTA, and FICA filings submit correctly
• Prepare Occupational Privilege Tax return
• Coordinate employee insurance programs such as Aflac
• Maintain required labor postings
• Maintain holiday list and track paid and unpaid days

Accounting

• Perform construction cost accounting
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Manage file and document control
• Complete bank deposits and initiate wires
• Manage Positive Pay and handle exception review
• Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts each month
• Prepare reports for banks, bonding, insurance, CPA, and leadership
• Support cash flow review with leadership
• Prepare credit applications and vendor information
• Support truck billing and truck tax filings
• Record journal entries as directed by CPA
• Maintain void check log
• Process rent checks, commission checks, dividend checks, loan payments, and overhead
• expenses
• Job cost overhead expenses such as fuel and insurance
• Maintain vehicle and equipment purchase and sale files including registration and
• renewals
• Handle insurance applications for renewal
• Maintain personal property tax documentation and inventory list
• Prepare materials for GL and workers comp insurance audits
• Submit Colorado Secretary of State periodic report
• Annual tax preparation for CPA
• Prepare WIP reports and over/under billing schedules

Qualifications:

• Experience in HR and construction accounting
• Strong understanding of payroll, compliance, job costing and accounting
• Experience with Foundation Software for construction or similar ERP systems
• Experience processing certified payroll
• Ability to manage deadlines and detailed records
• Proficiency in Excel
• Clear and consistent communication
• Ability to work with sensitive information
• Ability to promote team work

Work Schedule and Compensation:

Monday - Thursday 8:00-5:00 & Friday 8:00-2:00

Salary range 80k – 110k
