Compensation: $23/hr-$28/hr, depending on experience

Position Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and energetic Digital Printing Press Operator Apprentice to join our team. The ideal candidate will have some experience in the label making industry or a strong desire to grow and learn. As an apprentice you will have the opportunity to learn from some of the best in the business and go to onsite vendor training programs. You will be responsible for assisting in setting up, operating, and maintaining digital printing equipment while adhering to safety standards and ensuring the best printing outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in set up, operate, and monitor digital printing presses (e.g., HP Indigo, Durst)
• Review job tickets, files, and specifications to ensure accuracy before production
• Perform color calibration, registration, and quality checks throughout print runs
• Troubleshoot press issues and perform routine maintenance and cleaning
• Load substrates, inks, toners, and other consumables as needed
• Inspect finished products for defects and ensure adherence to quality standards
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
• Communicate with prepress, design, and finishing teams to resolve job issues
• Track job progress, materials usage, and production data as required.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or printing certification preferred
• Understanding of digital print workflows and file formats
• Knowledge of color management and print quality standards
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read job tickets and follow detailed instructions
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with RIP software
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 years of experience operating digital printing equipment (e.g., HP Indigo, Durst)
• Working knowledge of RIP software and digital front-end systems
• Experience with color management tools and standards (ICC profiles, G7, Pantone matching)
• Ability to perform advanced troubleshooting and minor mechanical repairs
• Experience working in a high-volume or fast-turn production environment

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
• Manual dexterity and visual acuity for quality inspection
• Production floor with exposure to noise, ink, toner, and printing equipment
• Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
