PAY
Experienced installers: $29–$40 per hour
Apprentices: $25–$28 per hour
Custom Floors Design, Inc. is hiring experienced Commercial Flooring Installers and apprentices to join our in-house team. We’re looking for dependable people who take pride in their work and want to grow with our company.
Experienced installers must have at least four years of hands-on experience installing one or more of the following:
- Luxury vinyl tile and plank (LVT/LVP)
- Sheet vinyl
- Carpet and carpet tile
- Ceramic or porcelain tile
Experience in just one specialty is welcome. You do not need to install every flooring type.
Apprentices are also encouraged to apply. The four-year experience requirement applies to experienced installer positions. Apprentice applicants should be ready to learn, follow instructions, and assist experienced installers with preparation and installation work.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install commercial flooring within your specialty, following project details and manufacturer requirements.
- Perform surface preparation, including cleaning, scraping, grinding, patching, and leveling as required.
- Measure, lay out, cut, and fit flooring accurately.
- Identify substrate or installation concerns and communicate them to the field supervisor.
- Work with the installation team to maintain quality and meet project schedules.
- Protect completed work and maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite.
- Complete finishing details and punch list work with care.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experienced installers: Minimum of four years of installation experience in one or more flooring specialties listed above.
- Knowledge of surface preparation, adhesives, tools, and installation methods relevant to your specialty.
- Apprentices: Willingness to learn the trade and work under the direction of experienced installers.
- Dependability, attention to detail, and good teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to travel to assigned project sites.
Additional flooring skills are a plus. Blueprint reading is helpful but is not required.
