Job Description
CFI Design Management, Inc., a national leader in Design/Build and Automotive Dealership Construction for over 45 years, is searching for a highly experienced commercial construction Project Manager. The right candidate will have extensive commercial construction knowledge and be able to handle every part of the project from planning to completion. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work efficiently across multiple projects, ensuring that no detail is overlooked or neglected.
- Bidding / Preconstruction - Assist with scope development, review, schedule development, bid list creation/tracking and bid advertisement.
- Scheduling - Direct involvement in preparation of a project schedule and reviewing schedule throughout the project to make sure that project is adhering to the schedule. Develops and updates project schedule for both preconstruction and construction activities.
- Submittals - Manages materials & labor procurement logs to ensure appropriate resources are available to meet the project schedule. Reviews and approves all shop drawings and samples prior to submittal to architects or engineers. Ensures approved submittals are returned to subcontractors and available to project team per the project schedule and the contract
- Contracts - Draft contracts, purchase orders, and change orders in a timely fashion
- Change Orders - Disseminates change requests to subcontractors for pricing and schedule input. Gathers and evaluates subcontractor pricing to confirm accuracy.
- Ensure that Daily jobsite reporting is submitting by Project Superintendents
- Plan organization & tracking - Manage project documents (plans/specifications/Design Intent Documents) and update Autodesk Build and Dropbox files.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- EXTENSIVE commercial construction knowledge
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving know-how
- Proficient with Microsoft and Autodesk Build
- Proficiency and solid understanding in each of the divisions of construction, with a demonstrated capability to read, understand and apply construction standards.
Education/ Experience:
- No less than 10 years in commercial construction with a minimum of 5 years of Project Management experience.
- BS in Construction Management is preferred.
