Currently, we are seeking highly qualified individuals to join our team in the following positions:
Senior Accountant
The Senior Accountant will have at least 3-5 years of accounting and finance experience, preferably within the transportation and trucking or industry or public accounting. This role will be taking on a support role to the Corporate Controller and CFO in financial decision-making that affects our company and will provide strategic financial input to senior management. It will be a hands-on role with full working knowledge of the accounting processes and general ledger ownership supporting the financial statements. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and implementing accounting procedures and overall internal controls to improve and maintain the financial health of our firm.
Additional responsibilities and qualifications include:

• Assess, evaluate, analyze and reconcile Operational Sub-Ledger accounts supporting assets and liabilities on the balance sheet (i.e. Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Lease Liabilities, Payroll, etc.).
• Be proficient in analyzing both income statement and balance sheet accounts and transactions to determine correctness and make journal entries as appropriate to insure appropriate representation of the financial results of the Company.
• Provide monthly reconciliations of all general ledger accounts supporting the balance sheet.
• Work directly with Operating Personnel who provide transactional input supporting the operations of the business (invoicing, purchasing, payroll, etc).
• Communicate closely and clearly with the Corporate Controller and CFO about any issues surfacing from transactional data supporting the general ledger and financial statements.
• Provide leadership in Month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities
• Maintain and operate standard period-end closing schedules
• Monthly and Quarterly balance sheet and P & L Fluctuation Analysis
• Post journal entries in Great Plains, the company general ledger accounting software package
• Work closely with Treasury to identify bank loan wire activity
• Work with Accounts Payable Manager to prepare and distribute 1099s to vendors
• Track and maintain fixed asset ledger by coordinating with IT and Accounts Payable; prepare schedules for reporting of fixed assets
• Monthly expense variance analysis

Job Requirements:
Required Education and Experience:

• 3 years minimum experience as a Senior Accountant.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
• Public Accounting/Audit experience preferred.
• Support knowledge of internal controls and items such as General Ledger month end close, and some forecasting skills.
• Preferred knowledge and experience in the transportation, logistics and long-haul trucking industries.
