Position Summary
The Area Safety Coordinator is responsible for promoting and enforcing a strong safety culture across assigned CEI locations. This position conducts routine and random inspections focused on driver behavior, vehicle readiness, and site safety compliance. The coordinator provides corrective action training, identifies safety violations, and collaborates with operations personnel to ensure adherence to company policies and DOT/FMCSA regulations.

Position Summary

This position conducts routine and random inspections focused on driver behavior, vehicle readiness, and site safety compliance. The coordinator provides corrective action training, identifies safety violations, and collaborates with operations personnel to ensure adherence to company policies and DOT/FMCSA regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct random pre-trip, post-trip, and driver inspections to ensure compliance with safety procedures and DOT regulations.
- Perform routine site audits to identify hazards, unsafe behaviors, and violations of CEI safety protocols.
- Facilitate and document corrective action training for drivers found in non-compliance.
- Investigate safety incidents and near-misses, determine root cause, and recommend corrective measures.
- Maintain accurate records of audits, inspections, training, and violations.
- Serve as a liaison between operations and the Safety Department.
- Monitor and enforce proper use of PPE.
- Assist with safety meetings and training programs.
- Support new driver onboarding.
- Field-based with daily travel.
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Requires physical activity such as climbing, bending, and lifting.

Job Requirements:
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in the transportation industry.
- Prior commercial driving or DOT safety experience preferred.
- Strong communication and coaching skills.
