Reports to: Shop Foreman

Job Overview: Custom Dredge Works seeks an experienced Paint Team Lead to assist in leading a team of 4 media blasters and painters to paint dredge and mining-related products. This role involves ensuring high-quality prep and paint, safety compliance, and efficient workflows to meet production targets.

Key Responsibilities:

· Employee Training &. Mentorship

· Train and mentor new team members in prep and paint techniques and safety protocols.

· Maintain 5S Standards

· Ensure the work area follows 5S principles (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to maintain cleanliness and organization.

· Safety Compliance

· Enforce adherence to all safety rules and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for all team members.

· Conduct prep and paint quality checks before requesting Quality Control (QC) inspection.

· Coach and train on processes and procedures to ensure consistency and accountability.

· Project Leadership & Collaboration

· Lead the team for various projects, working closely with team members to meet deadlines and quality standards.

· Assist in development and implementation of paint procedures and processes to optimize productivity and quality.

· Saturday Supervision Rotation - participate in the Saturday Supervision rotation to oversee the department during weekend shifts.

· Assist in resolving repairs that are returned by team members or QC.

· Job Assignment Assistance

· Collaborate with the shop foreman to assign specific jobs and tasks to team members based on workload and skill level.

· Provide feedback to the shop foreman for yearly performance reviews for direct reports and provide guidance and instruction to the media blast and paint team.

· Accountability for media blast and paint production times

· And all other duties assigned

· Qualifications:

· Strong technical knowledge of media blast and painting techniques.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
