In-Home Design Consultant - Window Treatments

Location: Twin Cities Metro Area (candidates based centrally or in the north metro preferred) Job Type: Full-Time preferred; Part-Time candidates will also be considered (benefits package differs — see below) Compensation: Commission-based sales role with strong earning potential

About the Role

Custom Drapery & Blinds is looking for a motivated Sales/Design Consultant to join our team, meeting with clients in their homes or places of business to help them select the perfect window treatments. This is a relationship-driven, commission-based sales role ideal for someone who thrives working independently, enjoys home design, and takes pride in delivering an exceptional customer experience.

What You'll Do

• Meet with clients at their home or place of business throughout the Twin Cities metro, assessing needs and recommending suitable products
• Align customer aesthetic and functional desires with the right products, setting expectations that build long-lasting relationships
• Develop working knowledge of product nomenclature and installation requirements, and convey both clearly to customers
• Transport demonstration material (up to 35 lbs) to and from appointments using your personal vehicle
• Prepare accurate quotes, track orders, and keep customers updated through to completion
• Track progress toward individual sales goals using available technology (quoting tools, CRM, etc.)
• Other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

Required

• Proven sales experience and strong customer communication skills
• Design/decorating aptitude and a passion for home improvement or design
• Comfortable managing the full sales process, from in-home consultation through order
• Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated in a fast-paced commission environment
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Basic computer skills

Preferred

• Background in kitchen/bath, flooring, furniture, or other residential in-home sales
• Window treatment or interior design experience
