Overview
We are seeking a motivated, eager to learn and detail-oriented Shop Apprentice to join our maintenance department. In this role, you will learn and apply practical skills under the guidance of skilled mechanics. Our ideal candidate has a keen interest in mechanical systems, an ability to learn quickly, and a strong commitment to quality workmanship.
Ultimately, the role of the Mechanic Apprentice is to gain the skills necessary to become a fully certified mechanic, capable of diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of automotive systems within the fleet.
Responsibilities
- Keep work space clean and organized
- Move fleet vehicles in yard
- Assist in cleaning vehicles if needed
- Assist in driver pre trip questions
- Assist in snow clean up
- Perform light vehicle repairs under mechanic supervision
- Participate in monthly training sessions
Qualifications
- Valid driver license
- Reliable transportation
- Highschool diploma or GED
- Computer experience
- Permanent US citizenship
