What are the responsibilities and job description for the Network Administrator position at CUSTOM APPLE PACKERS?
We’re hiring a hands-on Network Administrator to support and improve our multi-site network environment across production and office locations. This role focuses on network reliability, secure connectivity, monitoring/visibility, and operational support. Security responsibilities are shared with IT leadership, and storage/server platform administration is handled separately.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support multi-site LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi infrastructure (switching/routing, wireless, site connectivity).
- Manage and troubleshoot firewall and VPN connectivity, including remote access and site-to-site tunnels.
- Partner with IT leadership on network security controls (secure remote access standards, MFA-based access, logging/visibility, and reducing unnecessary access paths).
- Maintain and improve network monitoring and alerting (availability, performance, and configuration/change visibility).
- Support network-related services and operational items such as DNS concepts, certificates, authentication/AAA concepts, and vendor remote access pathways.
- Coordinate with ISPs, carriers, and vendors to troubleshoot outages and performance issues.
- Support network connectivity for business-critical systems (voice/telecom connectivity, physical security system connectivity, and operational systems).
- Document standards, diagrams, and procedures; follow change control and operational best practices.
- Participate in incident response for network-related events (triage, coordination, restoration, and follow-up improvements).
- Participate in on-call rotation and meet required response expectations.
Required Qualifications
- Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, wireless).
- Practical experience troubleshooting WAN/VPN and production network issues.
- Solid understanding of security fundamentals (least privilege, MFA, logging/monitoring, secure remote access).
- Experience using monitoring tools/metrics to identify issues and drive fixes.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical teams.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally between sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting multi-site operations environments (manufacturing, agriculture, logistics, distribution).
- Experience with security monitoring/logging and event triage/escalation.
- Relevant certifications (or equivalent experience): Network , Security , or similar.
Working Conditions
- On-site role based in Wenatchee, WA
- On-call rotation for critical systems
- May be required to respond on-site within 15 minutes of Wenatchee when on-call
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and work in warehouse/production environments as needed.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (e.g., networking equipment, tools, hardware).
Benefits:
Wage Rate: $90,000 - $115,000 DOE (base pay range; bonus/incentive eligibility is separate and not included in this range)
