Fin Tube Machine Operator Weekday Nights

The Fin Tube Machine Operator is responsible for safely setting up and operating the McElroy 6S finning machine.  Essential functions include:

• Individually operate the McElroy 6S finning machine
• Understand the difference and able to fabricate various wrap on and embedded finned tubes
• Construct fin tubes by reading blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data
• Determine tooling requirements, set up procedures, control settings, finning methods and sequences necessary to properly run the machine (examples include regulating speed, feed, and coolant flow, observing / listening to machine operation to detect malfunctions).
• Measure parts using different measuring tools (tape measure, dial calipers, dial indicators, micrometers)
• Operate overhead cranes on daily basis to load machine
• Occasionally operate forklifts
• Occasionally assist in loading and unloading trucks by way of forklift and overhead crane
• Understand and meet production quotas
• Clean and maintain machines at end of shift and report problems to management

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required
• 2 years of McElroy finning machine experience highly preferred
• Ability to read prints for both required specifications as well as dimensions
• Ability to be a self-motivated and highly productive employee who requires moderate supervision and who can efficiently execute a plan to make jobs happen on time within the hours given
• Ability to consistently maintain less than a 1% finned tube failure rate
• Ability to be punctual and dependent with a willingness to work hours outside of a standard schedule when required to achieve a task or complete a project
• Ability to be a team player and be a company-oriented individual who takes pride in their work
• Must be a highly safety-oriented individual 

Physical requirements

This position will be within a welding and grinding environment, use of PPE mandatory. Work area is not climate controlled so extreme heat/cold may be experienced. Work environment may also include high noise areas.

• Must be able to safely lift fifty pounds, sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, reach, etc.
• Ability to work in a shop environment in all seasons
