About The Role

As a Dock Door Lead Technician, you will take technical ownership of dock doors and dock leveling systems across our operations. You’ll manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs, troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues, and serve as the go-to resource for dock door systems — without formal supervisory responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement dock door and dock leveler preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Perform inspections, repairs, and maintenance on commercial and industrial overhead doors and dock levelers.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Maintain documentation of work performed, inspections, and service records in CMMS.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for dock door-related issues.
  • Support and mentor other maintenance staff with technical guidance when needed.
  • Coordinate with operations and facilities teams to prioritize repairs.
  • Work safely from ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts while following PPE and fall protection standards.
  • Ensure all work complies with company safety policies and OSHA standards.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 years of experience in dock door installation, repair, and maintenance in commercial or industrial settings.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
  • Must own a complete set of tools required for the role.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record needed. Travel between sites will be a requirement of the role.
  • Completion of all required C&W Safety Training.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Trade school or technical program graduate.
  • Experience with welding, fabrication, or energy management systems.
  • Familiarity with basic HVAC, plumbing, or electrical systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and safely in fast-paced environments.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to reach overhead, kneel, squat, climb ladders, and lift up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and physically demanding environments.
  • Must use required PPE, including gloves, safety glasses, and fall protection equipment.
  • Frequent movement between facilities and work sites as needed.
