Job Description Summary

Responsible for coordinating, scheduling and supervising the activities of the building/facility cleaning staff and ensuring that the cleaners keep offices, hallways, stairs, and other areas within the building in clean and orderly condition by performing basic cleaning duties. May also supervise the performance of the clean-up and basic maintenance of the surrounding grounds and premises.

General Natures of Work

Under the direction of the Account Manager will plan, direct, and execute the total housekeeping functions at Unum Chattanooga

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Plans, directs, and executes housekeeping functions at Unum Chattanooga
• Conduct training of new employees in proper custodial procedures, and demonstrate new cleaning methods
• Monitor performance of direct reports and advise Manager of policy violations and poor work performance
• Report all incidents and injuries immediately to Account Manager
• Operates various powered equipment in the performance of duties
• Maintains an inventory of cleaning supplies and materials; orders product when additional supplies and materials are needed.
• Notifies Maintenance Supervisor of needed building repairs
• Exercises initiative in planning and directing custodial operations to ensure adequate coverage to maintain assigned areas
• Exercise independence in the performance of responsibilities; work is reviewed through general inspection and observation
• Manage labor to ensure overtime is at a minimum and approved in advance.
• Respond to and resolve various emergency calls and routine calls for service
• Perform other duties as required

Qualifications

• Previous commercial janitorial leadership is a requirement.
• Must be able to take direction, to work with minimal supervision, and to function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Requires attention to details, a pride in delivering excellent customer services, good organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.
  
  

Education And/or Experience

Two years of experience/High school diploma or GED

Working Conditions

Environmental Conditions:

Office environment; travel from site to site on Unum Chattanooga campus; exposure to noise, dust, fumes.

Physical Conditions

Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; moderate or light lifting and carrying; bending, stooping, kneeling, near visual acuity.

The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.

The compensation for the position is: $22.95 - $27.00
