Sr. Buyer:
We are looking for a Sr. Buyer to join our Target Rock team!
As the Senior Buyer you will be responsible for soliciting quotations from a base of qualified vendors, placing purchase orders, follow-up and expediting placed purchase orders to meet established schedules. You will also solicit support as necessary from other departments to resolve questions or problems.
Location: East Farmingdale, NY
Salary/hourly rate: $74,100 to $107,100

Your Challenge:
- Principal responsibility is for the buyer to know the value of what is being purchased and ensure that the purchase meets required schedules within the budgeted guidelines.
- Negotiate the purchase order terms with regard to quality and cost savings.
- Provide communication with various vendors and other departments.
- Lead communication with vendor follow-up and expedited promised deliveries.
- Conduct periodic visits to vendors.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor.
- Resolve CW Pay issues.
- Participate in KTL meetings and update actions as applicable.
What You Bring:
- A minimum of five (5) years’ work experience as a buyer.
- Must be a US citizen
- Prior experience in machine shop environment.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Prior experience with ORACLE ERP desirable.
- Familiarity with MRP a plus.
- Working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Must be organized, detailed oriented and possess time management skills.
- Must be able to work independently and make own decisions.
EDUCATION / TRAINING:
- High School degree but a College degree preferred in Business Administration, or equivalent work experience.
