Duties
- Diagnose and repair small engines, including gasoline and diesel models
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment such as generators, lawnmowers, and other power tools
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques for repairs
- Conduct electrical repairs and troubleshooting on various machinery
- Repair heavy equipment components with mechanical knowledge and precision
- Perform vehicle maintenance tasks when applicable
- Assist customers with technical questions and provide expert advice on equipment care
- Conduct testing to ensure repairs meet quality standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Skills
- Dealership experience or service technician background preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge of small engines, generators, and automotive systems
- Proficiency with schematics, electrical systems, and diesel engine repair
- Experience with equipment repair, welding, soldering, and heavy lifting required
- Familiarity with Caterpillar machinery or similar heavy-duty equipment is a plus
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment effectively
- Customer service skills to assist clients professionally
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures and automotive repair techniques
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
