Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Purchasing Agent to join our procurement team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, goods, and services necessary for our operations, ensuring optimal supply chain efficiency. This role requires strong negotiation skills, familiarity with ERP systems, and a comprehensive understanding of procurement processes to support production planning and inventory management.
Duties
- Collaborate with supply chain management, logistics, and inventory control teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production planning to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
- Conduct market research to identify potential vendors and stay updated on industry trends.
- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, and supplier performance metrics.
- Develop and implement procurement policies aligned with company goals.
- Evaluate supplier performance and manage relationships to foster continuous improvement.
- Support pricing analysis and contribute to strategic decisions related to supply chain management.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in purchasing or procurement roles within manufacturing or supply chain environments.
- Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, SAP ERP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, AS400, or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of materials management, MRP systems, inventory management, and logistics.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms.
- Familiarity with contracts management, sourcing strategies, and supply chain optimization.
- Experience in e-commerce procurement processes is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective communication skills for negotiating with vendors and collaborating across departments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
