Role Overview
The CMMC Registered Practitioner will support defense contractors as an independent consultant. This role centers on advising Organizations Seeking Certification on CMMC requirements, helping them understand what is needed for compliance, and guiding them through the steps to strengthen their cybersecurity posture.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide direct guidance to OSCs on CMMC requirements and readiness.
• Conduct gap analyses and readiness reviews against CMMC practices.
• Develop clear remediation strategies to help clients move toward compliance.
• Work with client and internal teams to put policies, procedures, and technical safeguards in place.
• Stay current with Cyber-AB updates and DoD cybersecurity changes.
• Document findings and prepare clients for upcoming CMMC assessments.
Required Qualifications
• Active CMMC Registered Practitioner credential issued by the Cyber-AB.
• Affiliation with a Registered Provider Organization or willingness to join one.
• Strong understanding of NIST SP 800-171 and the CMMC framework.
• Experience in cybersecurity, compliance, or IT consulting.
• Strong communication skills and confidence working with clients.
• Ability to translate technical requirements into practical guidance.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting defense contractors or working in government compliance.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or Security .
• Experience supporting small and mid-sized businesses with compliance programs.
