Summary:

The Team Leader participates as a member of a team (Glass, Fill & Cap, Wash & Prep, Compounding, and/or Packaging,) to accomplish shared manufacturing goals and objectives. This position will perform the duties of a technician and will lead, coach, and train manufacturing technicians to perform duties, as well as communicate with all technicians/associates to accomplish the task required. The Team Leader will oversee the work in the area, ensure work is performed safely, that the product is produced in a quality manner, and ensure associates are adequately trained. The Team Leader will communicate throughout the shift with the Line Supervisor, Line Manager, Quality, and others as needed to perform the duties of the role. The position will work in cooperation with other specialty areas, and may on occasion cover other areas during the absence of the lead in that area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sets the example of personal performance that encourages excellence. Lead, facilitate, and participate in teams (specialty teams or special project teams). Communicate product attributes, and test data/results to the appropriate associates.
  • Communicate uncontrolled variations in the process. Communicate with visiting internal/external customers regarding the process. Effective written and verbal communication
  • Effective pass-down to next shift. Ensure the product meets all Quality and cGMP standards. Complete process checks at the required frequencies.
  • Investigate and take corrective actions when the process is out of accepted protocol. Report all workplace safety concerns to the appropriate personnel and take corrective action when appropriate. Ensure fellow associates are aware of and in compliance with all safety rules
  • Report all product safety concerns to the appropriate personnel and take corrective action when appropriate. Perform pre-operation inspections and take corrective action, or report exceptions to appropriate personnel. Maintain a well-organized and clean work area.
  • Oversee production activities in a specific area (glass, wash, prep, etc). Provide leadership to others on the team as to what jobs to do, when to do them, and how to do them. Interface with the Line Supervisor and Line Manager, providing updates on the area, team members, etc. Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience:

High School Diploma or combination of education and experience with two (2) years of Pharmaceutical Manufacturing tech experience & certification in an assigned area, as required.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write clearly. Ability to speak effectively.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Computer Skills:

Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access. Must be able to learn manufacturing software.

Other Qualifications:

  • Must pass a background, drug screen, and physical. Must pass Wonscore assessment. Proven leadership skills in a manufacturing environment.
  • Time management skills with an ability to prioritize. Ability to constructively deal with change and pressure. Willing to continue training/ education as necessary

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and use their hands to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; risk of electrical shock; explosives; risk of radiation, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Salary : $31,400 - $39,700
