Responsibilities
- Assist with wound assessment, dressing changes, and advanced wound care procedures
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and collecting medical histories
- Support physicians and nurses during clinical procedures, including suturing and X-ray imaging
- Manage patient intake processes and document clinical notes accurately in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Administer medications and provide patient education on wound care and treatment plans
- Perform basic life support (BLS) during emergencies and monitor patient vital signs continuously
- Coordinate with hospital teams for inpatient or outpatient care, including Level I and Level II trauma center protocols
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to safety standards and infection control protocols
- Support medical administrative tasks such as ICD coding, appointment scheduling, and insurance documentation
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar clinical support role within dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, or outpatient clinics
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and pharmacology relevant to wound care and emergency medicine
- Hands-on experience with EHR systems, ICD coding, vital signs collection, and patient intake procedures
- Familiarity with hospital environments including Level I Trauma Centers, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), OR (Operating Room), Geriatrics, and Medical-Surgical units
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as X-ray or emergency medicine training are advantageous
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service and team collaboration
- Knowledge of dermatology practices, inpatient/outpatient procedures, and hospital medicine protocols is preferred

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
