Role Description:
The Visual Inspector is a full-time, direct hire on-site role based in Rochester, NY. In this position, the individual will visually examine products and components for defects, inconsistencies, and nonconformities under a microscope to ensure adherence to quality standards and customer specifications. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing detailed inspections using precision measuring equipment, magnification tools or other visual aids, documenting findings, and completing inspection reports with accurate and clear information. The role involves collaborating with production and quality teams to communicate issues, participate in root-cause discussions, and support corrective actions as needed. The Visual Inspector will follow established procedures and safety guidelines, maintain an organized work area, and meet productivity and accuracy targets in a fast-paced environment.
Job Qualifications:
- 4 or more years of experience conducting visual inspections of precision machined parts with excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify defects and variances, using precision measuring tools, equipment including microscopes, required.
- Basic understanding of quality control principles and familiarity with inspection procedures, standards, or work instructions.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as drawings, GD&T, specifications, and production or quality records.
- Experience documenting inspection findings using an ERP system.
- Effective communication skills to clearly document findings and collaborate with team members across production and quality functions.
- Comfort working in a precision manufacturing environment, including standing for extended periods and handling small components.
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination when handling parts and using visual aids or inspection tools.
- Reliable time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records.
- High school diploma or equivalent, required.
- Commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and working respectfully in a diverse, inclusive team environment.
- Must be able.to commute to the Rochester, NY office daily.
- ITAR Compliant, must be a U.S. Citizen or Greencard holder and authorized to work in the U.S.
