POSITION DESCRIPTION
The IT Manager oversees and leads the organization's IT operations under the direction of the Vice President of Operations. This role manages both internal and external teams, including infrastructure and support services, as well as internal applications team. The IT Manager plays a critical role in aligning technology solutions with business goals, ensuring operational continuity, supporting clinical applications and systems, and maintaining a secure and compliant IT environment. This is an exempt, salaried position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides strategic leadership and daily oversight of IT operations.
- Directly manages an internal applications team responsible for Electronic Health Record (EHR), Practice Management (PM), Intellidose, PowerApps, and Power BI systems, and other data-driven systems.
- Coordinates with external IT service providers to ensure reliable help desk, network, workstation, and server support.
- Ensures secure and efficient operation of all IT systems, networks, and electronic health information systems.
- Develops and enforces cybersecurity practices to protect sensitive healthcare data and prevent breaches, attacks, or unauthorized access.
- Maintains HIPAA compliance and ensures all staff follow best practices for data privacy and security.
- Develops and maintains Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for IT performance, user satisfaction, and service delivery.
- Leads IT projects and system improvements while managing timelines, resources, and budgets.
- Proactively identifies technology risks, conducts regular risk assessments, and leads mitigation planning efforts.
- Provides mentorship and professional development opportunities to direct reports with performance reviews and coaching.
- Participates in incident response planning, business continuity, and disaster recovery.
- Performs hands-on technical support when needed and fosters a "lead by example" culture.
- Participates in regulatory compliance audits, surveys, and inspections, and implements corrective actions to address deficiencies.
- Establishes and maintains IT policies and system documentation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages the internal applications team.
- Coordinates oversight and service expectations with extern IT support vendors.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable law.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Health Information Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of six (6) years of experience in IT, including 3 years in a supervisory or management capacity.
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, including user management, security settings, and a strong understanding of licensing models and entitlements within the Microsoft ecosystem.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft 365 tools and services, including SharePoint, PowerBI, PowerApps, Teams, Exchange Online, OneDrive, and Office Suite.
- Proven ability to balance day-to-day IT operations with long-term strategic initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience supporting IT operations in medium to large organizations.
- Valid driver’s license and proof of automobile liability coverage in compliance with the State of Nevada’s compulsory automobile insurance laws.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in a healthcare environment with knowledge of HIPAA compliance.
- Familiar with Electronic Healthcare Records (EHR\EMR) and Healthcare Practice Management (PM) software.
- Prior experience in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations.
- Experience with KPI development and reporting.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- The primary workplace is an office environment work with standard office equipment.
- Frequently engages in computer-based work involving prolonged sitting and typing.
- Occasionally required to lift or move up to 20 pounds.
- Occasionally required to provide on-site support across multiple clinic locations.
