Patient Intake Lead / SpecialistCurated Mental Health – New York, NYFull-Time | On-SitePosition SummaryCurated Mental Health is seeking a highly organized, compassionate, and detail-oriented Patient Intake Lead / Specialist to oversee and manage our Intake Department. In this hybrid role, you will respond to inbound inquiries, assess prospective patients’ needs, and guide them through the intake and onboarding process with accuracy, warmth, and professionalism. You will provide essential information to referrers, patients, and community partners, ensuring an exceptional patient-facing experience.This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficiency, accuracy, and integrity of the intake process. You will process and transcribe patient information, adhere to all admission criteria, support operational workflows, and (as Lead) supervise intake team members to maintain high standards of service.Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Intake & CoordinationHandle all initial patient intake from first contact through completion of onboardingAssess patient needs, service eligibility, and appropriate program placementProvide accurate information about Curated Mental Health services to patients and referrersReview provider schedules and optimize appointment availability based on operational needsMatch patients to the appropriate facility, service, and care teamVerbally review intake paperwork to ensure full patient understandingOffer clear financial counseling outlining insurance coverage and financial obligationsAccurately enter demographics, insurance details, referrals, and medical history into the EMRVerify insurance coverage, eligibility, and benefitsSchedule initial consultations and clinical appointmentsRespond promptly to phone, text, and email inquiries from prospective patientsAddress and resolve prospective patient questions or concernsPrepare, organize, and maintain patient charts throughout the intake processEnsure completion and accuracy of all intake-related paperworkClear and respond to all voicemails and emails by end of dayDepartment Oversight & Operations (Lead Responsibilities)Oversee and support the Intake Team to maintain accuracy, professionalism, and patient satisfactionParticipate in routine operations team meetingsProvide management with relevant intake data, updates, and departmental insightsSupport practice management with daily operational needsMaintain up-to-date knowledge of provider schedules, availability, and insurance credentialingUphold a positive, welcoming experience for all prospective patientsMinimum RequirementsBachelor’s Degree1 year of experience in patient intake preferredExperience in healthcare or a related field highly preferredExceptional communication skills (verbal and written)Strong organization, follow-up, and time-management skillsAbility to multitask and manage competing prioritiesAbility to work both independently and collaborativelyEMR experience requiredFamiliarity with managed care, Medicaid, and insurance authorization is helpful but not requiredAbility to perform clerical tasks such as scanning, copying, and faxingBenefits & PerksCurated Mental Health offers a competitive, supportive, and growth-oriented work environment, including:Competitive salariesConvenient, stable hours401(k) with up to 4% company matchComprehensive health insurance benefitsGenerous PTOOpportunities for professional development and advancementAbout Curated Mental HealthWe are committed to providing high-quality, personalized mental health care in a respectful, supportive, and patient-centered environment.
