Business Analyst, Master Data Management (MDM) Operations
The Master Data Management (MDM) program at our company is growing & we are looking to bring on an MDM Analyst to build out and integrate the data domains. This role will bring an analytical and process-focused lens to the business side of data management. The day-to-day work will include both direct management of the mastered data within a new Master Data Management platform, and engagement with business partners and data stewards throughout the organization to curate the master records.
Job Skills and Abilities
- Data-curious, self-driven individual who is able to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Master Data Management, Reference Data Management, Data Quality, Data Integration, Data Analytics or Data Governance required.
- Ability to analyze data and work directly with business data owners to understand the data use, and to define and draft business rules and quality controls.
- Understanding of various MDM domains like Customer, Product, Organization and Location and their data models.
- Must have the ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- The MDM Analyst will create a source to target data mapping, create business rules, and lead analysis for visibility in master data discrepancies.
- Implement requirements for data matching and merging rules, survivorship criteria, and data stewardship workflows that can be deployed in the MDM tool.
- Develop ideas leading to continual improvement.
- Create and present robust requirement specifications, business cases, use cases, user stories and non-functional requirements.
- Contribute to the design and architecture for a robust MDM platform that matches and consolidates key data subject areas in a manner that is aligned to the company’s strategic vision.
Education
BS/BA or equivalent
Work Experience
5 years of relevant experience
Preferred Experience
- Hands-on experience with Master Data CRUD (Create, Review, Update, Delete) processes, workflows, Master Data Frameworks, Metadata management, data cleansing, match/merge and especially hierarchy management.
- Experience working with business users & interacting/developing business processes
- Experience in building and maintaining Sources-to-Target Mapping and data lineage documents.
- Experience with documentation of data requirements, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Service Agreements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SQL.
