Job Title: Registered Nurse / Licensed Practical Nurse

Shift: PM - 2:00 - 10:30 PM
$3 shift differential on NOC Shift
Position Summary:
The NOC Nurse provides professional nursing care to residents during the overnight shift in accordance with facility policies, procedures, and state and federal regulations. This position is responsible for monitoring residents' health status, administering medications and treatments, responding to emergencies, and ensuring that residents receive quality, person-centered care throughout the night.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to residents during the NOC shift, including medication administration, treatments, and documentation.
- Complete nightly assessments and monitor residents for changes in condition; promptly report significant changes to the provider and on-call nurse as appropriate.
- Supervise and support CNAs and other overnight staff, ensuring resident care needs and rounds are completed.
- Respond to call lights, resident concerns, and medical emergencies promptly and appropriately.
- Ensure accurate completion of end-of-shift documentation, including 24-hour reports and incident documentation.
- Perform wound care, skin checks, and other treatments as ordered.
- Maintain infection control and safety standards at all times.
- Monitor and replenish supplies, ensure medication carts are properly stocked and secured.
- Communicate effectively with day shift staff during handoff to ensure continuity of care.
- Uphold residents' rights, privacy, and dignity in all interactions.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid LPN or RN license in the state of employment.
- Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing preferred.
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Current CPR certification.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move continuously throughout the night shift.
- Ability to lift and transfer up to 50 lbs.
- Tolerance for occasional exposure to infectious materials and strong odors common in a healthcare setting.
