Position Summary
The Receptionist / Admissions & Referral Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for Cura of Le Sueur while also supporting the admissions and referral process. This role is essential in creating a welcoming environment for residents, families, visitors, hospitals, and referral partners, while ensuring accurate communication, timely follow-up, and efficient coordination of admissions.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesReception Responsibilities
- Greet residents, families, visitors, vendors, and staff in a professional and welcoming manner.
- Answer, screen, and route incoming phone calls accurately and courteously.
- Maintain the front desk area to ensure a clean, organized, and professional appearance.
- Assist visitors with sign-in procedures and follow facility safety and security protocols.
- Provide general information about the facility while maintaining confidentiality.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail, deliveries, and messages.
- Support administrative staff with clerical tasks as needed.
Admissions & Referral Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary contact for hospital discharge planners, case managers, social workers, and referral sources.
- Receive, track, and respond to referrals in a timely manner.
- Coordinate admissions paperwork and assist with gathering required documentation.
- Communicate admission status and updates to internal team members.
- Schedule tours for prospective residents and families.
- Maintain accurate admission and referral logs.
- Assist with census tracking and reporting as requested.
- Support pre-admission screening and insurance verification processes as directed.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all state and federal regulations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in a healthcare, skilled nursing, or administrative role preferred.
- Experience with admissions, referrals, or front-desk operations strongly preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional demeanor with strong customer service skills.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications (email, Microsoft Office, electronic medical records).
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations preferred.
