What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Weekend Watchstaff position at Cummings Properties?
Cummings Properties is seeking a dependable individual to join its watchstaff located at Cummings Center in Beverly. This individual will provide unarmed watchstaff and gatehouse service during first shift on weekends. This is not a security position.
Gatehouse staff monitor and protect buildings at Cummings Center, Dunham Ridge, and other Cummings buildings from trespassers, vandalism, and other damage; conduct Detex tours of the 80-acre Cummings Center site on foot; complete clear and concise log notes and incident reports using MS Word; interact with police and fire personnel when needed; regularly assist visitors and clients with inquiries and directions; and respond to a variety of facility issues, including fire and boiler alarms and elevator entrapments. Watchstaff must be especially alert for anything perceived as a safety hazard anywhere on site.
This is a part time weekend position. The standard shift is one 8-hour shift on either Saturday or Sunday, (2:30 PM – 10:30 PM), but two weekend days may be available occasionally, as well as additional shifts Monday through Friday. The position does not provide benefits.

- ·A minimum of three years of related experience.
- Although this is not a security position, prior security guard, military, or law enforcement experience is preferred.
- Applicants must have a valid MA driver’s license.
- Preferred qualifications include a professional demeanor, proven attention to detail and observation skills, experience with MS Office, strong work ethic, and spoken and written fluency in English.
- Preference will go to qualified candidates who live in the Beverly area.
