Position Title: Human Resources and Payroll Specialist

Job Summary:
The Human Resources and Payroll Specialist will assist with daily operations of the Human Resources department with a focus on onboarding and payroll responsibilities. This role is essential for maintaining accurate documentation, record-keeping, payroll setup and processing, while ensuring compliance with company policies and practices.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure payroll data (including salaries, adjunct and overload contracts, overtime earnings, and vacation payouts) is accurately populated and calculated.

Submit monthly and semi-monthly payroll files using payroll processing software for faculty, staff, adjunct instructors, and student workers.

Prepare reports on payroll expenditures, tax payments, and benefit plan disbursements.

Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training (e.g., safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure).

Assist all departments with the onboarding process for new hires. Including, but not limited to, new hire paperwork, collecting transcripts, initiating background checks/MVRs, maintaining compliance with I9/E-Verify, etc.

Address employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex matters to appropriate staff.

Education and Experience:

Minimum Requirement: Associate’s degree in Business Administration or related field.

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. At least three years of Human Resources or Payroll experience preferred.
