Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive and compassionate healthcare services to pediatric patients, from newborns to adolescents, within a family medical center setting. This role focuses on promoting children's health and well-being through preventative care, diagnosis and treatment of illnesses, and patient education.
Job Functions/Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations of pediatric patients, including well-child visits, and document findings accurately and thoroughly.
- Diagnose and treat common pediatric illnesses, injuries, and conditions, adhering to established medical guidelines and protocols.
- Prescribe medications and other treatments as appropriate, monitoring patient response and adjusting treatment plans as needed.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as blood work, X-rays, and other imaging studies, to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with chronic conditions, such as asthma, diabetes, and ADHD.
- Provide anticipatory guidance and education to parents and caregivers on topics such as child development, nutrition, safety, and disease prevention.
- Administer vaccinations and immunizations according to established schedules and guidelines.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and specialists, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting all assessments, diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the overall enhancement of pediatric healthcare services within the family medical center.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in pediatric medicine and incorporate evidence-based practices into patient care.
- Advocate for the health and well-being of pediatric patients and their families.
- Provide culturally sensitive care that respects the diverse backgrounds and beliefs of patients and their families.
- Participate in on-call rotation as required to provide after-hours and weekend coverage for pediatric patients.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience:
- Experience working with diverse pediatric populations
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Comprehensive knowledge of pediatric health care principles, practices, and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in performing pediatric physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing treatment plans.
- Ability to manage common pediatric illnesses and chronic conditions.
- Knowledge of current pediatric health guidelines and recommendations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate and detailed medical records.

- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Current BLS/PALS certification.
Required Education:
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
- Current licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
- National certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP)

Schedule Requirements:
Full-time position, 4 days per week, 100% clinic-based, in person work required.
Work schedules are set at the discretion of CFMC and may be adjusted at any time based on the operational needs of the organization.
