Certified Medical Assistant/Office Staff

Location: NewView - Russell Springs, KY
At New View - Russell, the Certified Medical Assistant plays a key role in supporting providers and patients across all aspects of primary care. This role involves patient assessment, assisting in clinical tests and procedures, and ensuring that care is delivered efficiently and compassionately. In addition to CMA duties, this role will also have additional front desk/clerical responsibilities detailed below. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and a team player who thrives in a collaborative, community-focused environment.
Job Functions/Responsibilities:
- Greets patients and escorts them to the exam room
- Takes and records vital and patient medical information in chart. Prepares patient room for exam
- Assist Provider in procedures as necessary
- Completes ordered lab procedures
- Wound care and suture removal as directed by Provider
- Administer EKG’s as directed by Provider
- Communicate results of all procedures and tests to Provider
- Discharge patient to receptionist
- Cleans and disinfects exam rooms after use
- Restocks supplies, linens, equipment, and checks for defects and outdating
- Consult with and keep supervisor informed of clinic activities, needs, and problems related to patient care
- Complies with established patient care standards
- Maintains established clinic policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control
- Maintains a clean, orderly and safe environment
- Cooperates with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintain good employee interdepartmental and public relations
- Maintains professional growth and development through seminars and educational sessions are required
- Other duties as assigned
Additional Front Desk/Clerical Responsibilities:
- Greet all patients and visitors cheerfully
- Register patients, help with the completion of necessary forms, and direct to the appropriate staff person, if needed
- Answer telephone, triage calls, and maintain records of exam
- Schedule appointments and referrals to other providers
- File and collect payments
- Complete encounter form upon arrival and checking (electronic and/or paper)
- Assist Physician, Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Assistants, and Office Manager as requested
- Maintain neat, clean, and professional work area
- Maintain established department policies
- Assist in care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Completion of Nursing Assistant/Medical Assistant Program
- CPR Certification
- Experience preferred
- Maintain required continuing education courses
Schedule Requirements:
Full-time position, 5 days per week, 100% clinic-based, in person work required.
Work schedules are set at the discretion of CFMC and may be adjusted at any time based on the operational needs of the organization.
Compensation: Negotiable based on experience
