Attorney II - 1-2 years of relevant work experience - $38.34/hour; $74,763.00/annually - $47.88/hour; $93,366.00/annually
Senior Attorney I - 3-4 years of relevant work experience - $40.65/hour; $79,267.50/annually - $50.77/hour; $99,001.50/annually
Senior Attorney II - 5-6 years of relevant work experience - $43.08/hour; $84,006.00/annually - $53.80/hour; $104,910.00/annually
Senior Attorney III - 7 years of relevant work experience - $48.41/hour; $94,399.50/annually - $60.45/hour; $117,877.50/annually

Job Description:
OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF JOB:
The essential purpose of this position is to represent the agency in matters in Dependency Court; Orphan’s Court and Bureau of Hearings and Appeals; and to provide legal counsel/advice concerning the business of the agency.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF JOB:
Presents Juvenile Petitions to Dependency Court (Shelter Care and Adjudicatory Hearings).
Presents Termination of Parental Rights petitions to Orphan’s Court.
Represents Agency in Dispositional/ Motions Hearings and Permanency Hearings and Adoption Finalization Hearings.
Represents Agency in Administrative Appeals regarding Child Abuse dispositions to include review of all substantiated child abuse reports.
Represents agency in appeals from Juvenile Court and Orphan’s Court to PA Superior and Supreme Court.
Drafts motions and answers to motions at all levels described above.
Drafts briefs for all levels described above.
Researches law for matters as described above.
Provides agency supervision for paralegals.
Provides consultation for caseworkers and supervisors.
Interviews/prepares witnesses.
Provides agency training on legal matters.
Serves on Local Children’s Roundtable and assigned workgroups for that group.
Attends PCYA Solicitor Meeting and Trainings
OTHER DUTIES OF JOB:
Attends meetings, training, and in-service as required.
Performs other job-related duties as required.
MET’s:
Two years of progressively responsible experience in professional legal work and graduation from an approved school of law; Juris Doctorate degree licensed and admitted to Pennsylvania Bar.
Prefer to be duly licensed by, and in good standing with, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Attorney must have experience in providing legal services in dependency and adoption, preferably Pennsylvania counties and federal courts in Pennsylvania.

- Meritorious service: defined as the absence of any discipline above the level of written reprimand during the 12 months preceding the closing date of the posting
