Job Summary
To perform specialized departmental clerical duties and responsibilities within the assigned department and other duties as assigned, while adhering to the Pennsylvania Election Code.
Essential Job Functions
- Maintains voter registration database and voter registration files.
- Process Absentee & Mail-In Ballot applications and prepare all associated envelopes and instructions for mailing while giving extreme attention to detail.
- Assists with distribution and collection of paperwork for candidates to be placed on the ballot.
- Strictly adheres to the proper chain of custody, safety and security measures with Mail-in and Absentee ballots.
- Follows the legal requirements set forth in the Pennsylvania Election Code.
- Assists in the organization, distribution and collection of election supplies.
- Assists the general public in person, by email or on the telephone.
- Assists voters, poll workers, candidates, political parties and general public on Election Day.
- Assists with proofreading of ballots.
- Assists in the computation of election night results.
- Assists with poll workers, their training materials, their training attendance and payments.
- Sends correspondence to voters.
- Updates voter history from the poll books after the election.
- Assists with voter maintenance efforts.
- Prepares and processes required departmental documents.
- Processes and distributes mail.
- Issue ballots to voters appearing in person
- Assists with assembling poll books.
- Travel to and from the Cumberland County Courthouse as needed.
Minimum Requirements to Perform the Work:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 1-2 years of office experience required
- Election experience preferred.
