General Responsibilities/Job Summary

This position works directly with the Company’s contract growers, (Meat Ducks), and producers, (Developers/Breeders), to ensure flocks meet quality standards and effectively meet production demands.
Essential Functions/Duties
A number of accountabilities (generally between 5 and 7) that cover the tasks, duties and responsibilities that are most important to get the job done, listed in priority order. Describe what must be accomplished including supervision or management responsibilities and quality and quantity standards.
1. Provide oversight and service to contract growers or producers as required or requested.
a. Record flock performance
b. Maintain accurate flock information
c. Prepare weekly service reports
2. Work directly with contract growers or producers to improve duck husbandry and farm management through the following:
a. Assessing problem areas & notify grower or producer
b. Implement action plan & advise on improvement
c. Follow-up with grower or producer and record results
3. Collaborate with live production team during flock emergencies on vaccinations, movements, and schedule changes.
4. Gather specimen samples & communicate with outside Lab when needed
a. Correlate samples sent with flock performance
5. Observe and/or assist with loading and unloading with producer facilities
a. Recommend new/revised procedures as appropriate
6. Any other job function that is requested of that will enhance the Culver Team in its efforts towards “continuous process improvements”.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Education/Training:
Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural or Animal Science or equivalent related work experience
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
o Ability to easily build rapport and effectively communicate with many different constituents
o Strong relationship qualities with the Company’s contract growers or producers
o Ability to quickly calculate numbers in head (and/or on paper)
o Attention to details is a must in this role
o Data entry skills with the Company’s flock management program or processes
o Excellent communication
o Customer service skills
o Organized and efficient (ability to multi-task)
o Demonstrated logical thought process and ability to coordinate multiple activities
Experience:
o Experience in working with live poultry
o Previous live animal technical skills
Certification/Licenses:
Valid driver’s license required – must be insurable on Company’s Insurance Policy
Travel Requirements:
Daily travel on multiple road surfaces
Physical and Mental Job Requirements
o Ability to move about on varied terrain
o Long hours walking, bending and standing
o Repetitive lifting, bending on occasion
Working Conditions
Most of the work occurs outdoors; subject to temperature extremes
Salary : $55,000 - $62,000
