Position Description
Position Type: 40 hours a week
Salary Range: $45,000 – $50,000 based on experience
Reports to: AVP of Community Engagement and Advancement
The Donor Services Coordinator is responsible for supporting the success of the Council’s fundraising efforts through the coordination of annual giving initiatives and donor stewardship. This role will be vital to the execution of fundraising campaigns that support donor prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. The Donor Services Coordinator also contributes to the success of fundraising events and corporate sponsorship efforts by helping to build meaningful relationships and generate support for the Council’s mission.
Duties and Responsibilities
Database Coordination
- Collects and enters donor and prospect information in the database.
- Generates reports on fundraising software to track campaigns, funds, and appeals.
- Monitors data entry activity to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
- Supports annual and seasonal giving efforts through utilizing the database
- Supports the department in implementing a moves management system.
- Participates in ongoing training to stay up to date with best practices
Fundraising & Donor Relations
- Provides excellent customer service when communicating with donors.
- Participates in donor engagement activity to include assisting with personal outreach, direct mail, e-blasts, and donor recognition, with accurate documentation in database.
- Coordinates with direct mail vendors and tracks mail-drop dates and projects with the Marketing team.
- Assists with mailings, reports, and donor recognition initiatives.
- Assists with registration and donor recognition at various Council events
- Assumes other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by AVP.
Event Support
- Assists in the planning and coordination of special events to support fundraising and donor engagement.
- Serves as staff liaison with outside vendors and partners for event logistics and manages on-site coordination of events.
- Supports the Advancement team with event solicitations to include sponsorships, auction items and/or in-kind donations.
- Serves as a liaison for third-party and collaborative fundraising events.
- Tracks and compiles quantitative event data and works with marketing team for sponsorship recognition and post-event recaps.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 1-2 years of experience working within a nonprofit or corporate office.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience within a department responsible for fundraising.
- Strong writing, organizational and communication skills.
- Tech-savvy and willingness to learning new processes and systems
- Flexibility in work schedule with the ability to occasionally work after-hours and on some weekends for meetings and cultivation/fundraising events. This position is eligible for overtime pay.
- Able to positively represent the Council in the community.
Characteristics of a Strong Candidate
- 1-2 years of fundraising experience
- Highly organized and meticulous.
- Ability to multi-task, work collaboratively, and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Some proficiency with fundraising software and familiarity with fundraising or CRM databases, and Constant Contact.
- Confident communicator, with excellent writing skills.
Compensation
The Cultural Council offers a competitive compensation package with benefits. The salary range for this position is $45,000-$50,000.
