Job Summary:
- Prepare and dispense all medications timely and accurately.
- Provide drug information to medical, nursing and pharmacy staff.
- Supervise and direct pharmacy technicians.
- Assist in training of pharmacy students and technicians.
- Comply with all federal and state rules and regulations pursuant to distribution of medications.
- Assist in drug use evaluation and quality assurance activities when requested.
- Take an active role in participation of clinical duties in the pharmacy.
- Demonstrate and encourage team behavior and exceptional patient/guest experiences.
- Uphold and promote patient safety and quality.
Qualifications
Education:
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy with a minimum of a bachelor's of science in pharmacy. Eligible for or currently licensed to practice pharmacy by the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy. Parenteral certification and active controlled substances license are required.
Experience:
One year of experience in hospital pharmacy or equivalent training during clinical rotation portion of pharmacy school.
Additional Skills/Abilities:
Must have effective communication skills and good interpersonal relationships with staff members. Use of pharmacy software and other computer skills are preferred.
Education:
