Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer 4. The work will be done onsite full-time in Lafayette, IN. This is a long-term position (12 months) that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $51/hr full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support quality and process improvement initiatives within a production environment. This role focuses on leading Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) efforts, supporting new product introductions (NPI), and ensuring robust manufacturing processes from concept through production launch. The engineer will work cross-functionally with manufacturing, operations, and engineering teams to identify risks early, implement preventative quality measures, and drive successful product launches.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead APQP execution for new product and capital programs, including validation planning and readiness reviews
• Develop and maintain PFMEA and Control Plans aligned with process capability and risk mitigation
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, ensuring manufacturability and inspection readiness
• Lead process validation activities including capability analysis, production trials, and run-at-rate evaluations
• Monitor early production and address quality risks through preventative actions
• Conduct structured root cause analysis and ensure lessons learned are incorporated into future processes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on process readiness and quality standards
• Track and analyze quality metrics to improve process capability and product reliability
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field
• 7 years of experience in quality, manufacturing, or product engineering
• Strong experience with APQP, PFMEA, and Control Plans
• Proven experience in problem-solving and process improvement
• Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders across all levels
• Strong communication and leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting NPI or New Capital Introduction (NCI) programs
• Familiarity with process capability analysis and error-proofing methods
• Quality certifications such as ASQ-CQE or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt
• Experience working in manufacturing or heavy equipment environments
• Experience working with suppliers and cross-functional teams
