Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Project Manager Associate β Energy Engineer. This is a permanent job. The work will be done onsite in Hoboken, NJ, 3 days a week, with the remaining days working from home. Compensation is up to $192,000 bonus.
Our client is seeking an experienced Energy Engineer to help lead and grow its energy services practice serving the New York and New Jersey markets. This position combines technical leadership, project management, client interaction, mentoring, and strategic consulting related to building performance, decarbonization, and energy efficiency.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership while helping expand a growing team focused on energy audits, retro-commissioning, decarbonization planning, and sustainability consulting.
Responsibilities
- Lead ASHRAE Level I and Level II energy audits.
- Manage retro-commissioning and building performance projects.
- Conduct site assessments, field testing, and data collection activities.
- Perform energy calculations and engineering analysis.
- Develop decarbonization and carbon reduction plans.
- Prepare technical reports and client-facing deliverables.
- Support compliance with NYC Local Laws 85, 87, and 97.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
- Present findings and recommendations to clients.
- Mentor junior engineers and project staff.
- Support business development and client relationship management activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- 10 years of experience in energy engineering, commissioning, retro-commissioning, building performance consulting, or related disciplines.
- Strong HVAC systems knowledge.
- Experience performing energy audits and building performance assessments.
- Experience with New York City energy regulations and sustainability initiatives.
- Excellent report writing and client presentation skills.
- Strong project management abilities.
- Professional certifications such as CEM, BEAP, LEED, PE, or similar credentials are highly desirable.
